Set the World Record for the Most Baby Carriers Wearers

Previous participants have enthusiastically shared that they have seen more parents at Green Sprouts wear baby carriers than at any other place or event. We want to celebrate this phenomenon by setting the world record for the most number of wearing baby carriers. This record has never been attempted before! We will video record parents fashioning slings, wraps, backpacks, Baby Bjorns, and ERGOBaby carriers. The baby carriers must contain a child between the ages of birth to 14 months. Experts will also be there to share hands-on advice about baby wearing. This is a great opportunity to put Portland's hip parents on the map!
Cotton Babies Diaper Dash

Part Derby, Part Costume Contest, All Fun With Chances to Win! VROOM! VROOM!! Parents, get your toddlers in training for the second annual Diaper Dash! Parents may prepare ahead and decorate their cloth diapers available from Cotton Babies in Vancouver. The Dash will be divided into 3 packs: Crawlers, Wobblers and Walkers. A $125 value gift basket from Cotton Babies will be awarded for the winner of each group. Additional prizes will be awarded for best costume. Who knows? Your infant may surprise you and take their first steps at this year's event. This was a laugh out loud feature at last year's festival. Even if you're not competing, stop by to spectate these future track stars.

Has your little sprout outgrown their clothes? Are you new to the area and want to learn how to adorn your child Portlandia style? Bring your clean, wearable children's clothing or gently worn gear to Green Sprouts for someone else to enjoy. This free, all-day clothing exchange presents a fantastic opportunity to gain new treasures while clearing out your kids' unwanted items and keeping them out of the waste stream. Any leftover items will be donated to a local non-profit.

Need a comfy place to sit down and nurse your little one while enjoying the festival? Grab a quick getaway at Zenana Spa Lactation Station for moms and their children. The Lactation Station provides a space for mothers who wish to relax and nurture their little ones in a quiet environment. Swing by Zenana's cozy booth to get off your feet, nurse and visit with other moms! Zenana will have practitioners on hand to answer any breastfeeding questions.

For preschoolers and parents. Explore nature in Portland parks with trained naturalists! Walk through parks, gardens and natural areas with your youngster and a nature guide. Touch slimy slugs, smell tree bark, feel crinkly and soft leaves, hear musical bird songs and experience the many changes of the seasons.
