Getting
There
Train:
The TriMet
Light Rail system has a stop just a few blocks from Peninsula
Park. Just take the Yellow line to the North Rosa Parks Way stop.
So, park your car or bike wherever is convenient for you, then
hop on the Max train and reduce your hassle, costs, and environmental
impact!
Bus:
TriMet bus lines #4 and #44 will take you within a short walk
to Peninsula Park.
Visit
the TriMet
Trip Planner for assistance in planning your trip.
Bicycle:
There are many designated bike routes that will take you right
to Peninsula Park. Consult the City of Portland bike
map (PDF) to find the best route.
Car:
Peninsula Park is easily accessible from I-5. Just take exit 304
at N. Rosa Parks Way (formerly N. Portland Blvd) and head east
3 blocks. To avoid parking hassles, we encourage all to come by
bus or MAX train. There is ample parking in the streets surrounding
Peninsula Park, however, it is a residential neighborhood and
we ask that you are mindful of our neighbors and where you park.
A limited number of parking spaces - available on a first come,
first serve basis - will be reserved for expecting families on
N Albina Ave near the main entrance.
Zero
Waste Event
We
are striving to make Green Sprouts a zero-waste event. Receptacles
will be available for recycling common objects such as aluminum,
plastic bottles, glass, and paper. Composting receptacles will
also be available for food items. A diaper changing area will
be available on-site for your convenience.
For
all other items we ask that you limit bringing disposable items
to Green Sprouts and that you practice a pack-in/pack-out approach
for any items that can't be recycled or composted.
Volunteer
Be
part of the grassroots efforts and help us spread the good word
by following Green Sprouts on Twitter and Facebook. Recommend
Green Sprouts social media to friends, family, parenting groups
and neighbors. Hand out postcards or post fliers in your favorite
neighborhood spots, at work, or by sending an email to friends!
We'll happily give you fliers, posters, email examples or other
materials to make the grassroots effort easy! Please call us at
503-231-4848 or email
us if you can help make Green Sprouts a success!
