2/11/2012: Starts at 7 PM
Abby's Table
609 SE Ankeny, Portland, OR
Join the Open Kitchen for a guided tour of winter foods viewed through the lens of the Chinese 5 element theory of food. This ancient tradition teaches how to balance the body through nutrition based on the five elements: fire, earth, metal, water, wood. The winter season is represented by water, so we will focus on spicy, hearty meals to bolster up the human body system during winter time.
Throughout this 4 course meal Dr. Elise Wong from Essential Family Medicine will educate guests on the lore of the Chinese approach to a balanced diet. Each plate is minutely designed by Chef Abby Fammartino (in a gluten, soy and dairy free kitchen) using ingredients suggested by Dr. Wong. In essence, each plate will be the study guide of this Eastern dining workshop focused on “Food as Medicine.”
Cost is $45. Click on the event link to see the menu and to register your spot!
